Subtitles Editor Role Using Channel Permission ( YouTube videos Subtitles ) - Humseka

Hello, Creators! Let's talk about the role of subtitle editor using channel permissions. Subtitles and captions allow you to share your videos with a wider audience, including deaf or hard of hearing, or foreign-language viewers. And with this permissions section, you can invite trusted users to add subtitles to your videos, without giving them full access to the channel.

We will go through a full process from inviting people to become sub-editors to exhibitions in the studio. Let's immerse ourselves. To invite users to become text editors go to YouTube Studio, then Settings, then Permissions. Click Invite. Then, enter the email address of the person you want to invite and select Subtitle Editor in the paragraph list. Then, click Done. By clicking Save, an email invitation will be sent to them. Invitation will expire after 30 days. Be sure to invite only the people you know and trust because as a channel owner you will be fully responsible for the actions of any subtitle editors who can access your channel.

Now, let’s take a look at what subtitle editors will be able to see in the Studio and how you can make sure your videos are tailored to them to add subtitles. The Role of the Subtitle Editor is very limited in terms of what the user can see in the Studio. When the user accepts the invitation, he or she will sit in the subtitle tab in the Studio which is the only tab he or she will be able to see at both your channel and video level. They will be able to verify that they have signed in as the Subscriber Editor in the upper right corner and no further information in the Studio will be available to them. In the subtitles tab, they will see a list of eligible videos to add subtitles. Any of your public or unlisted videos with the default language will be displayed in this list. To set your video language go to YouTube Studio, then follow Settings, and then download the default. Under Advanced settings, go to Language and Caption Certificate and set the video language.

This will apply to all your new videos and will make them suitable for subtitles. Note that if you download with the YouTube mobile app you will need to complete this step using the desktop device. If you want to set the language of your past videos you can do that in the Studio by going to the content and selecting the videos you want to review and then click Edit, then click the video language. Subtitle Editor will be able to see this list of videos to which you can add subtitles.

They can then click on a video to add or edit new languages and subtitles. Note that as the channel owner, you will be able to edit or delete any recently added or existing subtitles after your subtitle editor has made changes. For more information on how to add subtitles check out our full tutorial video attached to the description. Also note that if you are using a Product Account to access the channel you will need to move to Channel Permissions to use this feature.
